Crafting Your Tropical Mango Fizz
Tropical mango fizz is a refreshing drink that combines the sweet, tangy flavor of ripe mangoes with the effervescence of sparkling water.
This easy-to-make beverage is perfect for hot summer days or anytime you crave a taste of the tropics.
• 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and cubed
• 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
• 1 tablespoon lime juice
• 2 cups sparkling water or club soda
• Ice cubes
• Fresh mint leaves (optional)
Selecting the Perfect Mangoes
Choose mangoes that yield slightly to gentle pressure and have a sweet aroma near the stem end.
Ripe mangoes will give you the best flavor for your fizz.
Look for fruits with golden-yellow or reddish skin, depending on the variety.
Avoid mangoes with dark blemishes or overly soft spots.
If your mangoes are still firm, let them ripen at room temperature for a few days.
Once ripe, you can store them in the refrigerator to slow down the ripening process.
Creating Mango Puree
Peel the mangoes and cut the flesh away from the pit.
Cube the mango flesh and add it to your blender.
Pour in the orange juice and lime juice.
Blend until you have a smooth puree.
The citrus juices not only enhance the tropical flavor but also help prevent the mango from browning.
If you prefer a sweeter drink, you can add a teaspoon of honey or agave syrup at this stage.
Blending in the Bubbles
Fill glasses halfway with ice cubes.
Then, pour the mango puree over the ice.
This should fill each glass about 1/3 of the way.
Top off with sparkling water or club soda.
Then, stir gently to combine.
You can adjust the ratio of puree to sparkling water to your taste.
For a stronger mango flavor, use more puree.
If you prefer a lighter, fizzier drink, add more sparkling water.
Garnish with a slice of fresh mango and a sprig of mint if desired.
Then, serve immediately to enjoy the maximum fizz and freshness of your tropical mango fizz.
